Enhanced Resource Setting Lead Teacher Position at Pilsley Primary School (Chesterfield)

A rare opportunity has arisen to join our Primary & Nursery School rated “Good” by Ofsted in March 2024.

Due to the retirement of our current ERS lead in December, the governing body is looking to appoint an experienced and ASD qualified lead teacher from 6th January 2025 to help provide an excellent education for our autistic pupils. The lead teacher will be responsible for ensuring that the education and care of these pupils is of the highest quality and tailored to their individual needs.

This will include leading our team of highly experienced and dedicated teaching assistants who work both in mainstream classrooms  and the autism provision to facilitate inclusion and good levels of progress across the curriculum.  The successful candidate may have had previous management experience, or wish to take on managerial responsibility.

They will have considerable experience working with young people with complex special educational needs including Autism, ADHD  and social emotional mental health challenges.

They will firstly be committed to the welfare,  wellbeing and safeguarding of our children.

They will also seek high levels of progress across both the national curriculum and Autism Education Trust Progression Framework.

They will create opportunities for achievement  with creativity, enthusiasm and flair.

Please read the attached information carefully to ensure you have the necessary skills for this unique position.

The lead teacher we appoint can expect to:

  • be an equal member of a forward-thinking staff team
  • be supported by – and / or contribute to - personalised coaching, action research, and the possible mentoring of undergraduate or postgraduate trainee teachers.
  • teach outgoing and friendly children
  • receive dedicated PPA and CPDL entitlement

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.

You will require an enhanced DBS clearance.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Please telephone 01773 872378 to arrange a mutually convenient time.
