An amazing opportunity to teach at our wonderful school!

Are you a passionate and dedicated Teacher looking to inspire and support young learners? Sudbury Primary School has an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our vibrant and welcoming team!

At Sudbury, we are committed to our core values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, Compassion and Integrity, ensuring that our school is a happy place where we foster in our pupils “curious minds, with space to grow and time to shine.” We are looking for a highly skilled, enthusiastic, and motivated teacher who can help every child thrive and achieve their full potential. We are a welcoming, ambitious school with strong relationships at the heart of all we do.

Whether you are just starting your career or bring valuable experience as you move towards the Upper Pay Scale, we welcome applicants who recognise the demands of teaching and who are ready to work with determination and resilience to meet them.

You will deliver an engaging, well‑planned curriculum, create a positive and supportive classroom environment, build strong relationships with pupils and families, and use assessment effectively to ensure every child achieves their potential. From ECT Year 2 onwards, subject leadership is also an important aspect of the role.

You will be part of a dynamic EYFS/Key Stage 1 team. You will have the opportunity to develop and shape the future of our Nursery and Reception provision and act as a driving force in creating a warm and welcoming first impression for parents of children who are attending our school-led nursery provision from the age of 3 and move through to EYFS and Key stage 1.

We offer the opportunity to work with enthusiastic, happy and friendly children who are eager to learn, within a rapidly improving and supportive school at the heart of the Sudbury community. You will be part of a dedicated and committed staff team, all driven by a shared desire to make a meaningful difference to the lives of our pupils. Our school benefits from an excellent, well-resourced learning environment both indoors and outdoors, alongside a strong team ethos underpinned by a clear vision and drive for continuous improvement. We are also firmly committed to providing high-quality, ongoing professional development to support all staff in their roles.

Visits are strongly encouraged—please email enquiries@sudbury.derbyshire.sch.uk  to book on to one of the following tours of the school:

Tuesday 19 May 2026 @ 2.00pm

Wednesday 20 May 2026 @ 2.00pm

Thursday 21 May 2026 @ 4.00pm

Please note that online checks will be completed for shortlisted candidates prior to interview.

Provisional Interview Date: Wednesday 3 or Thursday June 2026
