As part of our exciting journey to transform our school and move it forward, another opportunity has arisen due to the sudden relocation of our long-standing Deputy Headteacher and the subsequent internal promotion of our current Assistant Headteacher.

We are looking for an experienced practitioner who is able to join our recently evolved leadership team, to build on the substantial progress made in recent years and to support the Headteacher move school into a new phase of its improvement journey.

The ideal candidate will have ‘measure’ and be a calm and reliable presence around school, able to draw on their experience to assure others around them and be a visible beacon of leadership excellence.  They will have a professional disposition and have the courage to hold challenging conversations when standards fall short – ensuring ambition for all children.

The successful person will oversee Achievement across our two-site school and be responsible for collating assessment data, analysing patterns and trends, and monitoring standards against national benchmarks, in order to inform the curriculum and what our provision looks like over time. The role will also hold a responsibility for ensuring and monitoring the impact of wider personal development opportunities for the children outside of the classroom.

In recent years, the school has made substantial progress under a new name and new set of values.  This is all leading to a rapid turnaround in outcomes and practice around the school and we are proud of just how far we have come.

As we approach the next phase of this journey, we can offer you:

  • Exceptionally well-behaved children who appreciate all that we do
  • A supportive and involved parent community who are keen for their children to be safe, happy and do well
  • Weekly management time to support with strategic responsibilities
  • An approachable Headteacher who is committed to professional development opportunities in all forms

We recognise that the timing of this opportunity falls out of the notice period window for a September start.  Whilst the position is intended to start from January 2027 for the right candidate, we’d ideally like the successful person to start much sooner or play a part in our development work during the Autumn term. This following negotiation with the candidate’s current school

Visits to the school are warmly welcome and a place can be booked by contacting the school and asking for Viccie Swain.

Dates to Visit: Due to time constraints, the school can offer visits on Monday 15 June @ 3.45pm, Friday 19 June @ 3.45pm, Monday 22 June @ 3.45pm, Friday 26 June @ 3.45pm

Applications should be sent straight to the school - office@samuelallsopp.staffs.sch.uk no later than 12 Noon on the Closing Date.

Shortlisting: Tuesday 7 July 2026

Provisional Interview Date: Friday 10 July
