Robins Nest is a children's residential home based in Kirk Hallam, providing care and support for up to three children and young people with disabilities. We are looking for a dedicated Housekeeper who can help us maintain a clean, homely and welcoming environment that supports the wellbeing and development of the children who live with us.
You will work alongside a committed staff team who provide child-centred care and support, working in partnership with children, families, carers and other professionals. Your role will be an important part of ensuring that the home remains a safe, comfortable and positive place for children to live.
You must be a person of good integrity and character who understands the importance of maintaining high standards within a children's residential setting.
About the Role
Within this role, you will be required to:
- Prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals and snacks.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home.
- Undertake general housekeeping duties, including cleaning communal areas, bedrooms, bathrooms and offices.
- Manage laundry duties, including washing, drying, ironing and storing clothing and bedding.
- Monitor and maintain stocks of cleaning products, household items and kitchen supplies.
- Support infection prevention and control measures and ensure health and safety standards are maintained.
- Contribute to creating a warm, welcoming and homely environment for children and young people.

The successful candidate will:
- Have experience of housekeeping, cleaning, catering or domestic duties.
- Be organised, reliable and able to work independently.
- Have a positive and flexible approach to work.
- Understand the importance of confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Be committed to achieving high standards and contributing to the wellbeing of children and young people.
- Demonstrate kindness, warmth and a genuine desire to help create a nurturing home environment.
Additional Information
Due to this post having access to children and vulnerable young people, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
