Derbyshire Dales District Council is seeking to recruit an experienced business advisor to join its Economic Development Team. Since 2011 the District Council has prided itself on delivering a high quality business advice and support service to SMEs in the Derbyshire Dales. Funding via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) provides the opportunity to extend delivery of the Derbyshire Dales Business Advice service from July 2023 for a further two years.
The advisor will provide practical, hands on support to established businesses to help increase business productivity and enable business growth such as helping prepare business plans and funding applications, in particular to the Derbyshire Dales Rural Innovation Grant scheme (also funded through UKSPF).
The successful candidate will have at least three years’ experience of advising and assisting SMEs, including providing one to one / face to face support to small and micro-businesses; have knowledge and understanding of business issues in a rural context and be able to manage a large client base. SFEDI accreditation is desirable (but not essential). Credibility with businesses and partners, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on your own initiative are also key requirements of the role.
The post offers flexible and hybrid working. Additional hours may be available subject to service demands. For an informal chat about the position please contact Giles Dann, Regeneration and Place Manager on 01629 761211.
