Do you have demonstrable experience of building effective relationships with a variety of partners from both the private and public sector?

We are seeking to recruit a Project Officer to work on our Disability Employment Service in the Swadlincote area.

Derbyshire County Council Public Health are committed to improving employment opportunities for disabled working age people in Derbyshire.

Work will focus on supporting disabled people to find suitable employment opportunities, apply for vacancies, source training, volunteer opportunities and support and advice when in paid employment.

Partnership building via pro-active contact with employers and other organisations via telephone, email, Microsoft TEAMs and face-to-face, attend meetings and events.

The successful candidate will require a good level of IT literacy including proficient use of Microsoft TEAMs, Word, Excel and Outlook along with the ability to adapt to bespoke databases. It is also essential that the successful candidate has excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals whilst maintaining a professional attitude.  They will also be able to demonstrate good organisational and time management skills.  We need a person who is flexible and capable of working both on their own initiative and as part of a team.

Experience of recruitment and working within the disability employment sector and an understanding of the barriers that disabled people face within the world of recruitment and employment would be a distinct advantage.

This post is based in the South Derbyshire area and the successful candidate will need to develop an excellent knowledge of potential employment opportunities by building close relationships with local employers.

The successful candidate will be expected to work from home and travel when needed to client appointments, some travel across Derbyshire will also be required from time to time.

This post is for 18.5 hours per week and these hours can be worked flexibly by arrangement.
