Live Life Better Derbyshire (LLBD) supports people to identify their holistic health and wellbeing needs, and provides weight management, smoking cessation, and physical activity services across Derbyshire.

The Live Life Better Derbyshire Hub team are now looking to recruit a Health Improvement Worker to predominantly support the work of the LLBD Hub team. The LLBD Hub is the first point of contact for all referrals into the service, as well as general enquiries from clients, referrers, partners and staff. The LLBD Hub is also the contact point for both the National Child Measurement Programme and LLBD Health Check queries and bookings.

Health Improvement Workers supporting the hub will contribute to the delivery of the LLBD service by supporting clients over the phone to identify and address their health and wellbeing needs, and by assisting with the various referral processing pathways within the hub team.

This post will be predominately based within the LLBD Hub Team. Working within a very busy office based in Matlock, the successful candidate will require a good level of IT literacy including proficient use of Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook along with the ability to adapt to bespoke databases. The ability to use Microsoft Office 365 and its associated applications would be an advantage. It is also essential that the successful candidate has excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of clients being aware of barriers that may prevent a lifestyle change. Due to the nature of the service the successful candidate must demonstrate the ability and commitment to undertaking a comprehensive range of duties as well as demonstrating flexibility in order to meet the demands of the service. There may at times be a need to work out in the Derbyshire community. 

In addition to the Hub based role we also have a vacancy for a Flexible Health Improvement Worker to work flexibly across different aspects of the Live Life Better Derbyshire service, dependent on current service need. This could include supporting the Central Hub Team as above, or it could include supporting the provision of Nicotine Replacement Therapy, promotion of the service within the community and supporting the National Child Measurement Programme amongst other areas.

There are currently two positions available with the following hours:

Position One (Hub Health Improvement Worker): 37 hours Monday – Thursday: 10:00 – 18:00 Friday 10:00 – 17:30

Position Two (Flexible Health Improvement Worker): 37 hours Monday – Thursday: 09:00 – 17:00 Friday 09:00 – 16:30

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.

Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
