Health Improvement Advisor – Healthier Weight
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Derbyshire County Council’s Public Health Department, within Live Life Better Derbyshire, supporting the work of the Adult Healthier Weight Programme.
We have a fabulous opportunity for one successful candidate to join a dynamic, and growing service which is looking for an individual to deliver on our Tier 2, Adult Healthier Weight Programme. The successful candidate must have a passion and ability for supporting Derbyshire residents to make healthier choices, and support making changes as part of their weight loss journey. We have one full-time post (37 hours) which will focus on supporting the delivery of our Healthier Weight programme, predominantly within the Amber Valley locality.
The successful candidate will require excellent communication and listening skills, with a knowledge of behaviour change and a good understanding of factors affecting health. You will require experience of working independently and as part of a team. A good level of IT literacy will also be required to maintain accurate client records.
This post is a hybrid role and will require office working, home working and working in the community, the role will involve regular travel across Derbyshire.
The role will include working 5 days of 7 and include evening and weekend working.

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.
Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
