An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Derbyshire County Councils Public Health Department to support the delivery of a new Integrated Care System (ICS) programme - Tobacco Dependency Treatment. We are looking to appoint 5 Health Improvement Advisors to deliver Tobacco Dependency Treatment to inpatients, pregnant women & patients in mental health settings who are receiving care from Chesterfield Royal Hospital or Derby Royal Hospital.

This is a unique opportunity to join a new, dynamic, and growing service which is looking for individuals with a passion and ability for supporting people to stop smoking. The posts will be based at Chesterfield Royal Hospital and Derby Royal Hospital.

You will require excellent communication and listening skills, with a knowledge of behaviour change and a good understanding of factors affecting health. You will require experience of working independently and as part of a team. A good level of IT literacy will also be required to maintain accurate client records. Knowledge and experience of tobacco dependency would be advantageous for this role.

The roles will include working 5 days of 7 and include evening and weekend working. For further information about the roles and responsibilities, please see the job and personal profile. Please use the job and personal profile requirements as headings in the section ‘suitability for the job’.

If you have a passion to make a difference, please contact Charlotte Goodlad 07971655876 or Dee Thornhill 07812473066 for a confidential and informal discussion about the roles

Please note: This is a rolling advert and applicants will be shortlisted and interviewed soon after their application is received until the positions are filled.

Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided. Click here to see our policy on criminal background checks.

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.

Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
