An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and committed individual to join the Community Safety Team.  In the role of Domestic and Sexual Abuse Manager. You will work collaboratively with other managers and team members to ensure a coordinated approach for the delivery of services in Derbyshire.

You will deputise for the Head of Community Safety and manage staff within the team.  In collaboration with external organisations and other County Council services, you will co-ordinate, develop and implement initiatives to prevent domestic and sexual abuse, to support victims and to challenge perpetrators behaviour.

You will be joining a team of experienced community safety professionals working passionately to address community safety issues across Derbyshire.  You will have access to suite of training and be given opportunities to develop yourself further.

What will I be doing:

  • Leading on the commissioning and management of contracts for domestic and sexual abuse services.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in legislation, regulations, policy and strategy developments, and acting as subject matter expert providing advice and guidance on domestic and sexual abuse both internally and externally.
  • Responding to enquiries from Government and other organisations and supporting the council to meet its statutory requirements in relation to domestic and sexual abuse provision.
  • Contributing to the development, preparation, maintenance and implementation of strategies and delivery plans
  • Maintaining an overview of budgets relating to domestic and sexual abuse.

What skills and experience do you need to have:

  • Ability to manage staff to ensure maximum contribution to the work of the team.
  • Experience of developing strategic plans.
  • Ability to manage budgets, access funding streams and commission services.
  • Ability to achieve results through partnership working.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead on projects and monitor and evaluate outcomes.
  • Ablility to persuade and influence others to achieve objectives.
  • Robust knowledge of current legislation relating to domestic and sexual abuse.

Our Community Safety Team is contractually based in Matlock, Derbyshire, but we are currently working on a hybrid basis.  There'll be an opportunity to discuss future working arrangements at interview.
