Three opportunities have arisen across the Welfare Rights Service to recruit Benefits Support Workers.

37 hrs per week, fixed Term until 31.12.24

26 Hrs per week, Fixed term until 31.12.24

37 hrs per week, fixed term to 31.03.24

 Based in Ripley. Currently ‘hybrid’ working with opportunity for home and office based mixed working.

Derbyshire County Council Welfare Rights Service is committed to maximising the benefits of Derbyshire people. We have several teams who work to support social care clients and the wider public to promote and support benefit take-up. 

If you are a client focussed person with excellent communication skills and experience of dealing with members of the public and other professionals, then this role could be ideal. An existing knowledge of welfare benefits is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

The role involves undertaking benefit checks and supporting with making claims over the telephone and face to face in clients’ homes as appropriate. The role will also liaise with the Department for Work and Pension and local government to ensure claims are progressed.

Provisional Interview Date: Week commencing 24 April 2023.
