The Public Health Department in Derbyshire County Council is enthusiastic and passionate about protecting and improving the health and wellbeing of the local population. We are looking to recruit an Advanced Public Health Practitioner to join our team.
Health Protection within the Local Authority seeks to prevent and reduce harm caused by communicable disease or environmental hazard, and seek assurance of preventative programmes such as screening and immunisation. The team provides assurance to the Director of Public Health through scrutiny and challenge, and acts as an advisor to local partners and the wider Council.

You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills and will be confident and experienced in working with a range of stakeholders both internal and external. The successful candidate will be able to function effectively across organisational boundaries, including with partners across the ICB, UKHSA and Derby City Council to facilitate the development of effective health protection plans and systems, engaging and influencing positive change.
If you are looking to develop a career within Health Protection Public Health this post offers an exciting opportunity.
