Derbyshire County Council have an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Procurement & Contract Compliance Officer to join its recently established Procurement and Contract Compliance team.

This role is well suited to highly motivated, positive individuals who are seeking a real opportunity to make a difference and drive improvements into commercial practices across the whole organisation. 

Reporting to the Principal Procurement & Contract Compliance Manager, this role will be part of a developing team, responsible for ensuring procurement and contract management compliance throughout the organisation, along with associated specialist best practice advice as well as training to service departments, where required.

The successful individual appointed to this role will have exceptional commercial, communication and interpersonal skills and ideally be a self-starter, capable of delivering high quality, complex work with minimum supervision. In addition to working with County Procurement colleagues there will be a requirement to build and sustain strong working relationships with key stakeholders and external supplier organisations to deliver effective, value for money and high-quality contract commitments.

Applicants should have an advanced understanding of contract and procurement processes, along with previous contract management experience. Knowledge and experience of these within a public sector environment would be beneficial.

The successful candidate will be expected to line manage a team of Compliance and Business Services Assistants and deputise for the Principal Procurement and Compliance Manager in their absence.
