Principal Procurement Officer – Grade 13
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Principal Procurement Officer to join our team.
In this key role, you will manage and develop a team of procurement officers, lead on category management, and ensure best-in-class procurement practices. By working closely with senior managers, key stakeholders, and suppliers, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of procurement services across the organisation, while also supporting the Council's broader objectives.
This role is contractually based at County Hall, Matlock, however, flexible/hybrid working arrangements are available. This can be discussed further at interview.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic procurement projects and improvement programmes across the Council.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and partners to maximise value and ensure effective service delivery.
- Advise senior management and stakeholders on procurement strategy and best practices.
- Develop and implement procurement systems and policies in line with Public Procurement Regulations.
- Promote engagement with local businesses to support the Council's local agenda.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Public Procurement Regulations and strategic procurement.
- Proven management and project management skills, with the ability to lead teams and complex projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to influence at all levels.
- MCIPS qualification or equivalent, with a strong commitment to continuous professional development.
