Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for transportation and highway development? Join our Transport Development Management team and play a vital role in shaping the future of the county's highway infrastructure.
About the Role
To provide transport development management advice to ensure effective transport assessment and input throughout the development process, including managing a case load of predominantly major/complex sites. Supporting the team manager in facilitating economic and sustainable development within the County in line with Derbyshire County Council's policies and strategies.
To assist with the provision of effective transport input on pre-application enquiries, outline planning applications, reserved matters applications and planning appeals as necessary.
Engaging in effective negotiation to secure highways and transportation mitigation for development proposals including through Section 106 discussions and identifying other funding sources as appropriate.
To support effective partnerships and working relationships with statutory, voluntary, private agencies and communities.
About you
To apply for this post, you must have:
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in a transport planning or engineering related field, And Membership of Chartered Institute of Highways & Transportation (CIHT).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience of interpreting and writing technical and non-technical reports.
- Effective negotiation with internal and external organisations, such as developers or Local Planning Authorities.
- Experience of conducting packages of transport analysis or assessment work.
- Knowledge of the planning process as it relates to highways and transportation.
- Be able to work to tight timescales and to agreed targets.
