The appointment is subject to a £2,000 Welcome Payment.

The payment will be made in two instalments (50% upon commencement in post and 50% after the completion of a successful 6 month probation period). A two year retention clause is applicable to the payment. The payment is not available to employees who already work for the Council. 

A grant of up to £6,000 may be available via our Relocation Assistance Scheme. 

We have an exciting Opportunity for a Development Manager. This is a full-time and permanent position (37 hours per week). Hybrid working is in play with the ability to work from home 2-3 days per week. 

This position includes a £2,000 welcome payment (t’s and c’s apply) and a grant of up to £6,000 may be available via a relocation assistance scheme! 

The main purpose for this role is to provide professional planning leadership and strategic management of staff within the Development Management Section and to be responsible for the operational delivery and performance of the Council’s Development Management service, which includes development management, planning enforcement, conservation and design, and trees and landscapes. 

This position would be ideal for an experienced Team Leader looking for the next step in their career, or an existing Development Manager / Assistant Director working with another Local Authority.
