Career Grade Planning Officer

We are seeking to make a minimum of one and potentially two appointments to a Career Graded Planner.

One of the roles will be primarily based in Planning Policy with the other primarily in Development Management.

The roles would suit people who are looking for an opportunity to progress within the Planning Service. The ideal candidates would have experience in Planning Policy including giving evidence at Local Plan Examinations or processing applications at point 3 or higher on the Career Grade, and we encourage applications from those who are available to work part time hours.

Applications will also be considered from those with less experience looking to establish a career in Planning.

The successful candidates will need to work with the Planning Policy Team Leader, the Development Manager and Planning Delivery Team Leaders to progress Local Plan matters and/ or a caseload of planning applications.

We are looking for flexible and creative people with excellent communication skills. A commitment to continuous improvement of service delivery and partnership working will be essential.
