We are seeking to make two appointments, to Career Graded Planners in Development Management. The roles would suit people who are looking for an opportunity to progress within the Planning and Strategic Housing Service at what is both an exciting and crucial time for the District. It would suit someone looking for a challenge and will provide in return invaluable experience and enhance their career in development management.

Located at the heart of the National Forest, with a wealth of historic buildings and pleasant countryside, South Derbyshire is one of the fastest growing areas in the country. Our emerging local plan will need to balance the requirement for new homes and employment with protection of those qualities that make the area such a desirable place to live, work and invest. 

The successful candidates for the Career Graded Planners in Development Management will work with the Planning Delivery Team Leaders in an area team to progress a caseload of planning applications. 

We are looking for flexible and creative people with excellent communication skills who can balance a high individual workload. A commitment to continuous improvement of service delivery and partnership working will be essential.
