Seasonal Labourer Grounds and Refuse

The Council is seeking Seasonal General Labourers for a range of temporary contracts working across the Council’s Refuse Collection and Grounds Service Teams:

• Seasonal General Labourers (Grounds Maintenance) 30 weeks x 42 hours
• Seasonal General Labourers (Refuse) 26 weeks x 37 hours
• Seasonal General Labourers (Refuse) 38 weeks x 37 hours

The roles involve working as part of a friendly team to successfully deliver our Services. Training and support will be provided together with the opportunity to gain experience within Streetscene operations.

Successful applicants will operate primarily from Eckington Depot. Postholders must be willing to work flexibly to assist with both Refuse and Parks and across a range of locations throughout the District. Willingness to assist with Street Cleansing and Transport operations is also required.

Candidates should possess:

• Experience and knowledge in the use of light powered plant and equipment and/or mechanical lifting equipment.
• The ability to undertake a physically demanding role, working outside and in various locations throughout the district
• Knowledge and experience of health and safety working practices in relation to the job role
• Hold a full valid driving license (preferably with categories: B+E, C1).
