The Leisure Team are responsible for improving Health & Wellbeing to all residents of North East Derbyshire. We require an enthusiastic, proactive and motivated individual, with a passion for Community Development to become a key part of our team.
The successful candidate will work at the heart of identified local communities promoting and further establishing the Walk Derbyshire programme. You will be developing community programmes in Clay Cross that support those that are inactive to become more active and tackle social isolation/loneliness. You will collaborate with key stakeholders in the local community and take a partnership approach to your work.
The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check carried out by DBS at the enhanced level.
To be successful you will need:
- Knowledge of the contribution Physical Activity and active lifestyles can make to community wellbeing.
- Knowledge of the Walk Derbyshire scheme.
- Knowledge of community engagement and health inequalities.
- Knowledge of social isolation and loneliness.
- Experience of community development work and partnership working.
The Walk Derbyshire element of the role is district wide and the physical activity/social isolation project is based in Clay Cross.
This is a key role at the Council that can make a real difference to people’s lives. In return, you will work in a supportive and friendly team, where your views and ideas are welcomed to ensure the Council deliver an excellent service to assist our residents.
