We are excited to offer an opportunity for individuals who are eager to learn, grow and progress their career in ICT.

As a Service Desk Technician at North East Derbyshire District Council you will have the chance to work alongside experienced professionals, gain hands on experience, and develop valuable skills that will set you up for success.

Our Joint ICT Service Desk is responsible for much more than call logging and first-line support. We work across traditional ICT boundaries by providing second-line desktop and project support and also have responsibility for many key ICT systems.

The postholder will have the opportunity to:

  • undertake training in new technologies,
  • contribute to current projects including Windows Autopilot, MS Endpoint Manager, and MS SharePoint,
  • and join a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional team.

Taking a flexible, and pro-active approach to your workload is essential together with the ability to learn quickly on-the-job. Interpersonal skills are just as important as technical and problem-solving skills. The post holder will be required to work efficiently as a member of a busy Service Desk team.

You will also be given the opportunity to access training courses and gain industry recognised certifications from CompTIA and Microsoft. For the right candidate, this post can provide a firm foundation for progress onto the Joint ICT Infrastructure team, when opportunities become available, to specialise in specific disciplines such as cybersecurity, networking, business application servers, and telephony.
