An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Adult Social Care Commissioning Team in the delivery of the Building the Right Support (Transforming Care) programme within Derbyshire. 

Working closely with our Adult Social Care operational colleagues and our Transformation and Partnerships team, you will play a lead role in the development and delivery of a Derbyshire programme which seeks to ensure adults with learning disabilities and/or autism who may also be experiencing mental ill health have access to high quality, personalised services including enhanced supported living, short break and residential services. 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the current health and social care offer and a commitment to improving independence, choice and outcomes for people with a learning disability and/or autism to enable them to live in the place they call home with the people and things they love, in communities they know, doing the things that matter to them.

This role will involve close partnership working with commissioning and operational colleagues within the Joined Up Care Derbyshire integrated care system including Derby City Adult Social Care, our two Mental Health and Learning Disability NHS providers as well as independent and voluntary sector agencies.  The role can often be challenging but also very rewarding, not least because of the commitment and support of the teams with whom you will be working.  The role offers a real opportunity to further develop your existing experience of successful collaborative working and your effective negotiation skills as both a commissioner and a manager. 

This post will be matrix managed by our Group Manager for Commissioning and Group Manager for Transformation and Partnerships.  The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience at Service Manager (or similar) level.  Please ensure you note and evidence the specific requirements for this post in your application
