An exciting opportunity has become available within the Clean & Green Section - Street Cleansing Team. If you like being outdoors and working around beautiful locations across the Derbyshire Dales then this job is for you. We require an enthusiastic, positive, hard-working individual who is committed to providing good Clean & Green Services to undertake the following duties: 

  • To complete a daily litter bin round, using a caged tipper vehicle, ensuring all bins listed for that day are cleansed and areas around the bins are clean & tidy. 
  • Maintain the public toilets in a clean & attractive condition reporting any disrepair or defects promptly. 
  • Provide high quality street cleaning services across the district including sweeping, litter picking, weed removal, collection of fly tipping & graffiti removal. 
  • Support the Clean & Green Service during severe weather such as gritting in icy conditions, snow clearance and providing flood provisions where necessary. 

You will be required to have a full driving licence.  It is essential that you have good customer service skills and knowledge of Health & Safety. It is desirable but not essential that you have 3 years relevant experience and/or an NVQ Level 2 in a relevant subject. 

The post includes:

  • 26 days leave per year plus bank holidays (pro rata), rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service.
  • Enrolment into the Local Government pension scheme
  • Optional overtime when available
