As a Laundry Assistant, you will help ensure our residents have clean, fresh clothing and bedding, supporting their comfort, dignity and wellbeing every day.
🌼 Your Role Will Involve:
🧺 Washing, drying and ironing residents’ clothing, bedding, towels and other items
🧴 Disinfecting soiled laundry and following infection‑prevention procedures
🏷️ Handling residents’ personal laundry with care and respect
🛠️ Carrying out minor clothing repairs when required
📦 Ordering laundry supplies and monitoring stock levels
🧼 Keeping the laundry area and equipment clean, safe and well maintained
🚨 Reporting any equipment faults, health and safety issues or concerns promptly
You will work closely with colleagues as part of a wider care team, helping to create a safe, welcoming and well‑run environment for our residents, including people living with dementia.
🌈 What We’re Looking For:
✅ A practical, hardworking individual who takes pride in their work
✅ Experience using laundry equipment (domestic or commercial) is desirable but not essential
✅ An understanding of hygiene, safety and confidentiality
✅ A team player with good communication skills
✅ A respectful and caring approach towards older people and their personal belongings
Full training will be provided.

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.
Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
