The Regulation Unit is looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and experienced manager whose background is across a range of local government functions including business administration.  The ideal candidate will need to possess highly developed IT skills across a range of software platforms and be able to demonstrate competence at managing and supporting a team that performs a range of duties and services in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

The Community Support Team provides administrative support to other Council services, investigates environmental crimes, deals with stray dogs, runs the pest control service, and co-ordinates our Community Wardens.  You will need to have the skills to manage your time and prioritise incoming work demands, whilst providing a great service to the customer and maintaining confidentiality.  A thorough understanding of the services provided, and the legal basis for delivering them is highly desirable.

The work of the team is demand led and so a flexible approach to work is required along with an ability to deal with challenging live situations.  Investigation of environmental crimes including experience of compiling prosecution files is advantageous.

Are you able to create, maintain, and modify working procedures to maximise process efficiency?  Do you have experience of adapting your approach as the environment around you changes?  If so, then you could be the person we’re looking for.

Candidates will also:

  • Possess a working knowledge of Data Management Security including GDPR.
  • Be an effective communicator, both written and orally.
  • Undertake enforcement investigations including the application of RIPA and PACE.
  • Be able to work flexible hours and possess a current full driving licence.
