An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated individual, who is outcome and partnership focussed, with a passion for improving community safety and reducing crime and disorder in South Derbyshire. The successful candidate will join the Councils Communities Team.

We are looking for someone who has proven experience in this field of work and who has a good knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to community safety. You will be responsible for developing crime and disorder reduction strategies, identifying and supporting the most vulnerable in our communities and for improving community confidence, engagement and cohesion.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and possess the ability to effectively plan and organise your workload. Creative problem-solving skills will be an integral part of your working practices and the ability to make robust decisions is essential.

You will deliver and co-ordinate the South Derbyshire Community Safety Partnership Plan, co-ordinate service delivery and develop and maintain positive relationships with partners and agencies to ensure a multi-agency approach to reducing crime and disorder. You will be committed to meeting the needs of, and improving outcomes for, our residents and be focussed on excellent customer service.

Maintaining and building new relationships with colleagues, partners, community groups, businesses and many more is integral to the role. As is having excellent verbal, written communication and customer service skills to keep everyone involved and up to date to deliver a successful and meaningful event.

Working patterns can be discussed on appointment but will usually be during Mon-Fri , however due to the nature of role, there will be occasional evening and weekend working. The Flexible Hours Working Scheme applies to this post.
