We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior ICT Officer - Databases to join our innovative team and help shape the future of public services.
This is an exciting time to join our ICT Services Operations Team as we continue to embrace digital change. We are investing in new tools to support a comprehensive and innovative ICT transformation programme, to support the delivery of key services to the residents and communities of Derbyshire.

Key responsibilities of this role are:
- Helping to maintain and improve the Council's SQL Database Landscape
- Provide expert advice and support to a range of stakeholders regarding Database systems.
- Provide professional expertise and knowledge within the ICT Operations Service area.
- Working on a standby rota to ensure that the critical systems are always available
- Prepared to work at evenings or weekends to update and patch live SQL servers
- Ability to explain technical issues to a variety of audiences
- Carry out 3rd line support and maintenance activities to ensure the Operations services deliver to agreed standards and levels
What skills and experience do you need to have:
- Currently working as a SQL Database Administrator or has 2 or more years of experience working in SQL Role
- Advanced T-SQL scripting skills
- Technical knowledge and practical experience in backup, restore and disaster recovery
- PowerBI and on-premise gateway administration
- PowerShell experience desirable
- SQL Azure knowledge and qualifications preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of SAP HANA databases or SUSE Linux Enterprise OS preferred but not essential
- Confident and effective communicator

Our ICT Team is contractually based in Matlock, Derbyshire, but we work on a flexible basis which includes options for home working with an expectation for at least two days per week at County Hall, Matlock.
