As we continue to expand our digital capabilities, we are seeking a talented individual to join our Digital Development team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on both front-end web development projects and Microsoft Power Platform solutions including system integrations and AI capabilities.
You will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing web-based solutions, integrations, and applications to meet the evolving needs of the Council. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that enhances user experience, streamline business processes, and drive innovation.
As a Lead Digital Developer, you will be a great communicator and an effective trouble shooter, who has experience of working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs. You’ll be able to navigate changing priorities, break down explanations of complex processes and communicate cross-functionally with people from different levels of technical expertise within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Lead and manage a team of digital developers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to foster growth and productivity within the team.
- Workload Prioritisation: Effectively manage and prioritize the team’s workload, aligning resources to meet project goals and deadlines efficiently.
- Technical Leadership: Oversee the full technical lifecycle for Microsoft Power Platform, DCC web presence, and related technologies, ensuring reliable performance, availability, and alignment with service levels.
- Power Platform Solutions: Design, deploy, and customize applications using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI, integrating with other systems as needed to meet business requirements.
- Technical Support: Provide timely support and troubleshooting for web development and Power Platform implementations, ensuring quick issue resolution.
- Strategic Guidance: Shape the future direction of the Digital Development Team, fostering innovation and growth.
- SharePoint Management: Manage and optimize SharePoint for effective document management and team collaboration.
- Systems Integration: Ensure seamless integration and data flow across various platforms.
- Custom Development: Develop custom solutions, with a strong advantage for experience in Drupal development
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the team, nurturing a culture of growth and technical excellence to drive innovation.
Skills and Experience:
We’re looking for a motivated and technically skilled individual with:
- Power Platform Expertise: Proven experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
- Skills: An understanding of modern programming languages, such as JavaScript, Python, C# and .NET, to effectively guide, manage, and support the digital development team in delivering high-quality solutions.
- SharePoint & Drupal: Strong knowledge of SharePoint customization and familiarity with Drupal for content management (advantageous).
- Development Best Practices: Solid understanding of software development standards, team leadership, and roadmap creation.
- Agile and Dev-Ops - An agile approach that emphasizes quick prototyping and iterative development. An understanding Agile frameworks and Dev-Ops practices.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical ability with a creative approach to complex technical challenges.
- Mobile App Integration: Background in mobile app development and systems integration (advantageous).
