An exciting opportunity has arisen within Digital Services for an enthusiastic, versatile and self-motivated Business Intelligence Officer. 

The role will sit within the Council’s newly formed central Data and Analytics Service alongside other Officers who provide business intelligence, data collection and data expertise to support the operational management and strategic planning of services across the Council.  The role provides a varied and challenging development opportunity working across a wider team.  This will include the following responsibilities: 

  • Extracting data from systems for analysis using interrogative languages (eg. SQL). This will primarily be from the Social Care Case Management System, however will also include a variety of other systems used across the Council.
  • Matching data from a range of sources to produce dashboards and analysis to present to a range of audiences.
  • Deliver statutory returns.
  • Respond to requests for information. 

We are looking for a dedicated, personable individual to work closely with the operational leads and wider Digital Services and Corporate colleagues to deliver successful outcomes to support the aims of the service. 

The qualities of the successful applicant will include: 

  • Ability to build good working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet targets within prescribed timescales.
  • Established and proficient Digital Skills, including SQL and Power BI.
  • Ability to guide and influence employees and managers at a senior level. 

The role provides a varied and challenging development opportunity working across a wider team.  As well as technical skills, candidates should be enthusiastic and customer focused, possess effective problem-solving abilities and be self-motivated. 

The successful candidate will need to be flexible in the areas of work they cover and will ideally have an understanding of how recording systems support operational delivery and good practice in recording information.
