Location: County Hall, Matlock (Hybrid working available – subject to service needs)

Contract: Full-time – 37 hours per week

About the Role

At Derbyshire County Council, we’re committed to delivering services that make a real difference to residents and communities across Derbyshire. Recruiting the right people is fundamental to achieving this, and we’re looking for a proactive and forward-thinking Recruitment Campaign Lead to help shape how we attract, engage and recruit talent across the Council.

This is an exciting time to join our Recruitment Team. As we introduce new recruitment technology and move towards a more modern, proactive and insight-led service, you’ll have the opportunity to influence how we work, champion manager self-service and bring fresh ideas to our recruitment approach.

You’ll act as a trusted recruitment partner to managers and senior leaders, using your expertise to develop effective attraction strategies, provide constructive challenge and lead campaigns ranging from specialist and difficult-to-fill vacancies to senior leadership appointments.

Alongside this, you’ll lead and develop a team of Customer Service Advisors, helping us deliver an excellent experience for candidates and recruiting managers alike.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is what your day will look like as our Recruitment Campaign Lead:

  • Leading and delivering innovative recruitment campaigns across the Council, including specialist, hard-to-fill and senior leadership appointments.
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to recruiting managers and senior leaders, providing expert guidance on attraction strategies, advertising, candidate markets and effective selection methods.
  • Developing proactive approaches to talent attraction, including headhunting, direct sourcing, social media campaigns and building longer-term talent pipelines.
  • Using recruitment data, labour-market intelligence and campaign performance to influence decisions, improve outcomes and ensure value for money.
  • Championing fair, inclusive and compliant recruitment, including advising on right to work, sponsorship requirements and appropriate recruitment processes.
  • Leading and developing Customer Service Advisors, promoting manager self-service and helping implement new recruitment technology and improved ways of working.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be well suited to this role if you have:

  • Proven experience of managing multiple recruitment campaigns, including developing effective attraction strategies for specialist or difficult-to-fill vacancies.
  • Experience of proactive candidate sourcing, employer branding and using social media or other recruitment platforms to attract and engage talent.
  • The confidence to build strong relationships with managers and senior leaders, providing professional advice, constructive challenge and support to enable greater recruitment self-service.
  • Strong analytical and commercial awareness, with the ability to use recruitment data and labour-market insight to recommend appropriate recruitment approaches and advertising channels.
  • Good working knowledge of recruitment legislation, right to work and employer sponsorship requirements, including experience of advising on these matters.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience of managing, motivating and developing teams. Having the ability to support colleagues through change, particularly building confidence in new systems and embed new ways of working, would be advantageous.

If you're excited by the opportunity to take the Recruitment and Onboarding function to the next level, we would love to hear from you.

To apply, please submit your CV and feel free to add a supporting statement setting out how your experience, fits the advert and Job & Person Profile.
