Matlock, Derbyshire/Hybrid

Reporting to the Organisation Development Manager within the Learning & Development team, this role will focus on delivering, supporting and evolving the growing number of established Organisation Development processes.  It will lead the development and deployment of smaller new  council wide projects to drive transformational change. 

A self-motivated, results driven individual with the ability to operate at all levels and focus on customer requirements and service needs.  Excellent presentation and facilitation skills with an eye for continuous improvement and efficiency. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the development and deployment smaller, new OD projects, at an operational and strategic level, understanding stakeholder requirements and applying project management principles. 
  • Responsible for the effective operation of organisation wide established OD processes eg. Apprenticeships, Graduates, Performance Development Review cycle, succession planning, leadership apprentices, induction  
  • Deliver and facilitate training modules, continually review and evolve approaches based on customer feedback and external best practice  
  • Sustain and continuously review the robust measures and dashboard, underpinned by the quality of data for all OD processes and analyse data to inform and track organisational progress  
  • Management of operational OD issues and monitoring of OD KPIs  
  • Oversee the procurement of external providers and manage contracts for established projects to ensure best-in-class provision.  
  • Provide a sound understanding of the apprenticeship levy model and opportunities to support the council to achieve the public sector apprenticeship targets through effective supplier management liaison with external partners  
  • Engage in external and internal networking, recognising the value of bench marking and relationship building. 
  • Support the Employee Engagement Manager, using feedback from employee voice and leaders and ensuring established existing OD initiatives are aligned to the internal communications strategy as well as our strategic narrative and organisational integrity 
  • Lead the successful implementation of OD initiatives, working closely with Senior HR Business Partners, HR Business Partners and external partners as required, confident in facilitation skills 

Qualifications and Skills Required: 

  • Experience of the breadth of organisation development in previous roles is essential with specialist knowledge of cultural change, talent management, leadership development, performance management and apprenticeships and implementing in a unionised environment.  
  • Experience in a large, complex organisation supporting complex transformational and cultural change  
  • Driven by efficiency and continuous improvement to delivery our services and enhanced organisational effectiveness 
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills 
  • Team player, flexible and collaborates with wider network, influencing and building strong relationships with key stakeholders 
  • Commitment to continuous professional development, with relevant qualifications such as CIPD Level 5 or equivalent.
