A vacancy has now arisen within the Housing Department for a Housing Options Triage Officer within the Housing Options team.

The role will need to take a proactive approach to preventing and relieving homelessness in Bolsover District.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for those homeless or threatened with homelessness. Completing homeless applications, providing appropriate housing advice and assistance on homeless/housing related queries in accordance with the Housing Act 1996, Part VII, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and any subsequent legislation and the Council’s policies and procedures.

They will work closely with the Council’s Temporary Accommodation Officer and Housing Options Officer’s as part of the Housing Option Team.

To be successful you will need:

  • Ability to demonstrate a knowledge of legislation pertaining to Housing. Particularly the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Act 2002 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • Experience of working with customers in a frontline service, managing a demanding workload and prioritising tasks.
  • Experience of providing advice to vulnerable clients.
  • Experience of partnership working.
  • Excellent communication skills & ICT skills.
