Salary/Grade: £32,903.29 - £35,596.24/ Grade 7

Hours/Days: 37 hours per week

Permanent contract

Location: Bolsover District Council, The Arc, High Street, Clowne, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. S43 4JY or as required

A vacancy has now arisen within the Housing Department for a Housing Options Officer within the newly established Housing Options team.

The role will need to take a proactive approach to preventing and relieving homelessness in Bolsover District.

The successful candidate will need to provide a comprehensive housing advice service to those requesting assistance, providing appropriate information to enable them to make informed choices that lead to successful outcomes in accordance with the Housing Act 1996, Part VII, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and any subsequent legislation and the Council’s policies and procedures.

To work closely with the Council’s Temporary Accommodation Officer and Homeless Triage Officer as part of the Housing Option Team

To be successful you will need: 

 

  • To have detailed, up to date, knowledge of Legislation pertaining to Housing. Particularly the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Act 2002 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • To be able to demonstrate a practical knowledge and experience of homeless case management.
  • A minimum of two years working in a Homelessness (Prevention, investigation and decision making) and housing advice or related field.
  • Experience of managing a demanding workload and the ability to prioritise own work and that of other team members in order to meet service deadlines with minimum supervision.
