The PDO has two main elements. The first is the development and implementation of effective project governance across the capital programme. In addition, it also operates a new Programme and Project Management System (PPMS) which supports the Service through the provision of financial tracking, scheduling, and reporting functionality.
During development, we have worked closely with an external supplier, and we are now seeking an administrator to form part of our team which will sustain and grow this capability into the future. This role will report to the PDO Manager but will work closely with the whole highways team to deliver effective, efficient and value for money service delivery.
Key Responsibilities for this role are:
- Implement guidelines, procedures, and templates to collect and maintain consistent data and provide hands-on delivery support to the management of the highways capital programme.
- Implement agreed regular progress-reporting mechanisms for all projects, programmes and assist the PDO Manager in the preparation of visual aids which support the delivery of key metrics in a variety of forums.
- Provide support to project managers on the use of the Programme and Project Management System (PPMS) and identify opportunities for further development of the software.
- Support the wider PDO team in the coaching and development of project teams through targeted interventions aligned to PDO governance.
We are looking for someone with:
- A relevant level 3 qualification and practical experience of supporting project management.
- A strong working knowledge of MS Office, in particular the use of Excel.
