We’re seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant to lead our Management Accounting team and provide high-quality financial insight to support decision-making across the Council.
The Role
You’ll deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, support budget setting and medium-term financial planning, and provide expert advice to senior stakeholders. You’ll also drive continuous improvement in financial processes and lead on responding to financial queries across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Management Accounting team
- Deliver monthly financial monitoring and reporting
- Provide analysis and clear financial insight
- Support budget and Medium-Term Financial Plan development
- Act as a key financial advisor to stakeholders
- Improve systems, processes, and service delivery
About You
- CCAB/CIMA qualified with substantial experience
- Proven team leadership in a complex organisation
- Strong analytical, reporting, and financial modelling skills
- Confident communicator, able to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience in financial planning and performance management
Desirable: Local government finance experience.
