We’re seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to lead our Financial Planning & Analysis function. You’ll provide specialist financial insight, support strategic decision-making, and play a key role in the Council’s medium-term financial planning and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Financial Planning & Analysis team
  • Maintain and develop the Medium-Term Financial Plan and forecasts
  • Build and manage complex financial models to support decision-making
  • Support budget setting and financial planning processes
  • Deliver analysis on cost drivers, value for money, and financial performance
  • Provide expert advice on business cases, projects, and complex budget issues
  • Support commercial activity, including contract and financial analysis
  • Produce financial insights and brief senior stakeholders and decision-makers

About You

  • CCAB/CIMA qualified with substantial experience
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical expertise
  • Experience working in complex organisations and delivering large-scale projects
  • Proven ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis
  • Desirable: Local government finance experience
