We have an exciting opportunity in the Financial Services Team for someone who is a motivated and proactive individual looking to build a career in finance. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our finance team as an Accountant, where you will develop key financial skills.

The post will be based at the Town Hall in Matlock, though remote working would be considered for part of the time.
This role will provide valuable exposure to financial reporting, external audits, budgeting and financial planning. You’ll gain hands-on experience while supporting senior finance colleagues in delivering high-quality financial services.
About this role:
In this role, you will:
- Support financial reporting, budgeting and external audits.
- Assist in preparing government returns and providing technical financial advice.
- Develop skills in financial analysis and reporting to support decision making.
About you:
- You are AAT qualified (Association of Accounting Technicians) or equivalent. With 5 GCSE’s grades 4-9 (or A-C) including English and Maths.
- You have at least two-years’ experience working in a financial environment.
- you should be proficient in the use Excel and computerised financial packages (ideally Unit 4).
- You have a high level of numeracy to be able to produce and monitor revenue accounts for a range of services.
- You must work well in a team and can engage with a variety of stakeholders.
- You are able to work without strict supervision & to meet deadlines.
