At Derbyshire County Council, we are ambitious for our varied and diverse communities, building on our success and continuing our journey as a modern and effective organisation. Our ‘Best Lives’ strategy is clear in its ambition to empower residents to live independently and lead fulfilling lives in their communities, taking a strengths-based approach to care and support. This has led to a whole new shape to our leadership team in adult social care and health that will change how we work as an organisation to deliver a resident focused service that is designed to tackle the challenges of the future.
Our Director of Adult Social Care will work alongside two new Director roles to lead a large operational service at the heart of how we support the most vulnerable. We are outcomes focused, our assessment, care planning and delivery is strengths-based and built upon co-production between people with lived experience, carers and professionals. In supporting and empowering our residents we will not only address the many financial pressures we face, but will deliver better outcomes for people so that they can thrive in their own communities and remain close to friends and family, achieving a better quality of life. We have recently received a ‘Good’ CQC assessment, one of the first in the country, however, we are eager to achieve more, responding to the changing demands of our county population.
This is a career enhancing opportunity to work in an amazing county for someone with the drive, skills, ability and passion to make a difference. We are seeking someone who will be able to lead the senior leadership team and support us to continue our journey of transformation, working across the department, wider council and with partners. Your experience will be operationally focused in adult social care and health, with a track record of leading and implementing change, creating an environment where colleagues are empowered to work with residents to develop solutions that best suit individual needs.
