Do you have a good understanding of domestic energy efficiency? Are you committed to reducing fuel poverty?  

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the District Council to develop and deliver domestic energy efficiency schemes, helping to reduce fuel poverty and carbon emissions in the Derbyshire Dales. The Council has been very successful in attracting investment into retrofit and has so far delivered £2.2M of improvements, with a further £1.9M in the pipeline. 

We are keen to meet individuals who are passionate about helping us meet our commitments to reduce our carbon footprint to net zero by 2030 and supporting our residents and businesses to reduce their emissions. 

The post holder will need to be an effective communicator, who will be able to engage with the Council, partners, businesses, residents and the wider community to influence positive action.  They must be confident in delivering practical face to face energy efficiency and decarbonisation advice. 

This new post is based within our Regulatory Services Directorate, but with the opportunity to work with a range of colleagues across the Council to meet our corporate objectives. 

We are interested in people who: 

  • Have sound knowledge and experience of domestic energy efficiency
  • Understand the challenges of fuel poverty
  • Are organised with the ability to manage complex projects to tight time frames
  • Can communicate confidently
  • Want to learn and are willing to undertake professional energy advice qualifications
