Job Details and Requirements

This is an excellent opportunity to join the successful Joint Environmental Health Service which delivers services across the rural districts of both Bolsover and North East Derbyshire District Councils. The districts are an ideal place to live, work and visit and are situated between the Peak District National Park and Sherwood Forest and have excellent access to the M1 motorway network with ease of access to Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham.

The post is based within the Housing and Public Health Team of the Joint Environmental Health Service.

The Home Assistance Co-ordinator role covers duties around delivering interventions to help reduce fuel poverty, increasing affordable warmth and assisting the health and wellbeing of vulnerable residents of North East Derbyshire and Bolsover with matters relating to the home.  Where appropriate this is undertaken in partnership with the Local Authority Energy Partnership, Public Health Teams and other relevant partners and organisations.

Preferably you will have experience of working with vulnerable residents in a similar role, have a broad knowledge of fuel poverty, affordable warmth and climate change issues, be qualified to NVQ Level 4 or equivalent, a good communicator and proficient at organising your own workload. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

The role is based between home working and at North East Derbyshire District Council offices but with a need to travel throughout the districts of both Bolsover and North East Derbyshire with equipment, so you will also need a valid UK driving licence and access to a car or suitable mode of transport.
