The Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service has a full-time (1fte),  maternity cover vacancy for a Programme Development Worker (PDW) within the apprenticeship team.  This post will be working across Council departments with external partners, sub-contractors, and schools. The PDW posts carry out a wide range of duties supporting the development of programmes, management of delivery staff, promotion and improvement of teaching and learning within DACES provision, liaising with partner agencies, and monitoring achievement and progression.  The post has a significant role in supporting Assessors and Work Based Tutors, tracking apprenticeship progression, completions and supporting new apprenticeship recruitment.  Applicants should have a good knowledge of apprenticeships and relevant experience of quality assurance within this area.

Applicants for this vacancy should:  

  • Have experience of working with and motivating apprentices  
  • Have experience of work-based delivery  
  • Have experience of planning and delivering apprenticeship standards.  
  • Have experience of working with employers  
  • Be committed to promoting equality, diversity and British Values  
  • Be experienced at monitoring and overseeing quality within apprenticeships  
  • Be flexible and able to adapt and differentiate across various apprenticeship roles and environments   

Experience in one or more of the following apprenticeships is required:  

  • Adult Care Worker Level 2  
  • Lead Adult Care Worker Level 3  
  • Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 
  • Business Administrator Level 3 
  • Team Leader/Supervisor Level 3 
  • Teaching Assistant Level 3 
  • Early Years Educator Level 3  
  • School Business Professional L4 

A casual car user allowance is attached to this post, but it is possible for the allowance to be converted to other forms of transport where there is a requirement to undertake travel as part of this post.
