Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service is seeking to recruit a creative and innovative Learning and Skills Manager to lead on its community learning education programme.
This role sits within the service's senior management team and is responsible for the curriculum development for this important area of learning, working closely with key strategic partners, to engage residents in the development of new skills and knowledge to improve well-being, promote social cohesion and progress in work.
The successful candidate will need to have significant knowledge and experience of post-19 community education, recognising and recording progress and achievement, Ofsted inspection and the associated funding and performance management requirements. They will need to also demonstrate a clear understanding of how community learning makes a crucial contribution to devolution, Local Skills Improvement Plans, and the implementation of the Skills for Jobs: Lifelong Learning for Growth and Opportunity.
The role will require the successful candidate to have experience of leading and motivating teams, managing and monitoring budgets, generating other income, and policy development. They will also be an inspiring communicator, have confident IT skills and be able drive.
