The Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service (DACES) is seeking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced Employability subject specialist tutors to our tutor pool.
Employability classes are delivered both online and face to face in our centres and partner venues across the county of Derbyshire. We offer a range of employability qualification courses to adult learners and young people aged 14 – 19.
Our employability courses include:
- Sector-based Work Academy Programme (SWAP) in Customer Service, Adult Care, Catering and Learner Support.
- Gateway Qualifications Level 1 Award in Employability Skills
- AIM Level 1 Award in Skills for Working in Business, Administration and Customer Service Industries
- We are currently developing our employability offer and so our choice of courses will increase
Once appointed to the tutor pool tutors can build a working pattern to suit on a course by course basis. This makes this role ideal for both those who only want to work a few hours a week and those who want to build a more substantive role and timetable of classes.
Applicants should:
- Hold an adult teaching qualification and a recognised subject specialist qualification.
- Have experience of work with adults and/or young people.
- Be able to deliver in a blended learning approach to maintain engagement, interaction and motivation of learners.
- Understand the barriers adults and/or young people face whilst unemployed.
- Be committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion and British Values.
Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
