Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service is looking to appoint 14-19 Study Programme Workers to work with young people on a number of programmes around the county but especially in Long Eaton, Swadlingcote and Alfreton .

The 14-19 Study Programmes support young people who are NEET or at risk of falling into this category assisting them into work, traineeships or Apprenticeships. While this is a relief post, there are substantial hours on offer.

The programmes assist young people with confidence building, personal development and employability skills and including English, maths and digital skills as well as a core vocational qualification such as customer service.  The programme also offers the learners a chance to attend a supportive work placement.  We are looking for staff with experience of working with and motivating challenging young people, experience of youth work would be an advantage.  A level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent teaching qualification is essential. Successful staff would be expected to gain the level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (CET) (or hold its equivalent) within 2 years of working for DACES.

A casual car user allowance is attached to this post but it is possible for the allowance to be converted to other forms of transport where there is a requirement to undertake travel as part of this post.
