An exciting opportunity has arisen at Hayfield Primary School for a 1:1 EHCP Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our experienced and highly motivated team on a temporary contract.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to the post of Teaching Assistant, supporting a student with an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP). The successful candidate will be caring and patient and able to cater for the individual needs of the student, including social, emotional, communication, language and learning support and be capable of working in partnership with teachers and parents.
The position will be:
- a 1:1 role, although other children may be included in small group work.
- Supporting a lovely, gentle and enthusiastic child with a number of diagnoses. We will provide adequate training.
- Supporting the pupil during PE lessons, and unstructured times.
- Social support as well as safeguarding.
- Supporting their needs by leading interventions, both verbally, written and on the computer.
- Supporting their social interaction and social communication skills. Helping them to advocate and express themselves.
- Supporting their mental and physical wellbeing.
- Supporting a range of subjects, in particular, in reading, maths and writing.
- Following their EHCP with the support of the class teacher
- Supporting the SENCO in tracking the EHCP targets to ensure this child reaches their full potential.
- Use of resources, in liaison with involved professionals and parents.
- Use of a communication book to liaise with parents
