We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching and Learning Assistant to work one to one with a child with an EHCP in Reception. You will need to be a kind and nurturing person who is able to work as part of our dedicated school. The successful candidate will work 5 days a week during school term time from 8.55am – 3.25pm You will be working as part of the team in our EYFS Unit and will work alongside the teacher and our SENDCo to ensure we are meeting the child’s needs and working on their targets.
Experience and Skills we are looking for:
- Someone who can work as part of a team.
- Someone who can use their initiative.
- Someone who can work 1:1 or in small groups with a child/ren with SEND.
- Someone who has experience of children with ASD and the need for sensory play.
- Someone who has experience of communication aids e.g. Makaton, sign language or has a willingness to learn these.
- Someone who is patient and understanding of a child’s needs.
- Someone who can bring learning to life, making it fun and engaging.
- Someone who can communicate effectively with the child, parents, colleagues and outside agencies.
