We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner who is committed to making a difference for children with a range of complex SEND needs. 

The post holder should be prepared to work within all areas of our school as required.

The post holder will demonstrate essential professional characteristics, and in particular will: 

  • Work closely with teachers, senior leaders, therapists, and families to deliver high‑quality support
  • Engage and motivate pupils
  • Improve the quality of pupils’ learning
  • Inspire trust and confidence in pupils and colleagues
  • Build team commitment with colleagues
  • Demonstrate empathy with and an appreciation of the needs of pupils
  • Provide additional support with physical activities at break and lunch times
  • Be committed to making a real difference to the lives of young people with special educational needs and their families/carers
  • Be able to offer skills and experience to add to our curriculum
  • Able to work across Key Stages 1, 2, 3 or 4 as required
  • Able to demonstrate strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Able to assist pupils in managing personal care
  • Able to assist pupils to develop effective communication skills e.g., Makaton
  • Be positive, resilient, and committed to reflective practice.
  • Be professional, reliable, and passionate about improving outcomes for children.
  • Be willing to contribute to the wider life of the school.
