This is a rare opportunity for a compassionate pastoral and inclusion mentor to join our vibrant and welcoming team. In this dynamic role, you will work closely with identified pupils to remove barriers to learning and promote positive engagement with school. You will deliver targeted interventions and provide pastoral support to individuals and small groups, particularly those with additional needs.
You will be skilled at building respectful relationships with individual children, understanding what interests and motivates them in order to engage them within the school day. You will liaise with families where needed to support children in making a happy transition into school in the mornings. Working with the School Business Officer and Headteacher, you will monitor attendance, report on and deliver our attendance strategy.
You will play a key role in supporting children with learning, communication and language needs, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. You will also contribute to whole-school approaches that promote wellbeing, resilience, and inclusion. You will liaise with the ELSA to monitor impact of interventions and plan for provision.
You will understand the relationship and overlap between attendance, inclusion and safeguarding. You will contribute to safeguarding records and liaison with external agencies including Early Help, Social Services and Inclusion Support.
Norbury C of E Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
