Applicants must have good communication skills.
Duties include providing a high level of care and support for our pupils during lunchtime. This will be, either, to supervise whilst pupils carry out playful activities in the playground; assist pupils in the dining hall, such as helping them cut food, using a knife and fork, wiping tables, spillages. Supervising children in classrooms whilst they play board games, colouring, watching age-appropriate films/cartoons, if weather conditions do not permit outdoor activities. Most often you will be partnered with another Mid-day to assist.
We also require our MDS to be Paediatric first aid trained to provide our pupils with immediate primary treatment for cuts and bruises, or assess if further professional medical help is needed should the injury be more serious. Training is provided at Level 3 emergency first aid qualification. Due to new legislation, September 2026, Benedict’s Law training is compulsory on recognising and being able to administer medication/treatment in the event of an allergy reaction.
