The Governors are seeking to appoint a hardworking, friendly and caring Learning Support Assistant to join our committed and supportive team. Contributing to the learning and progress of students, we are looking for someone who can encourage children in all areas of the curriculum, helping them to revisit and consolidate learning as well as move learning forward by recognising next steps and recording methodically and accurately the progress they make whilst working with you.
Your main duties will include:
- Providing a safe, friendly and stimulating environment for the children
- Building professional relationships with children and their families
- Interacting with the children in an age appropriate manner and teaching them new vocabulary
- Supporting children to reach their full potential by carrying out activities and providing enhancements within the environment that link to the children’s interests, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Encouraging curiosity, creativity and imagination, independent skills and the use of good manners
- Treating every child as an individual.
- Providing a positive approach to promote learning and excellent behaviour
- Participating in any relevant training needs
- Joining in with all sensory and messy activities and being prepared to go outdoors in all weathers.
Initially working in the EYFS, you will need to have a secure understanding of the EYFS curriculum, including the characteristics of effective learning, knowledge of child development and have some knowledge of current Early Years agendas and initiatives. You need to be proactive towards classroom management and teaching and learning. Above all, you need to be able to engage and motivate children and strive for the best outcomes for all learners.
A Paediatric First Aid Qualification is desirable.
We are an Enhanced Resource School and operate a fully inclusive curriculum for all learners.
Full and relevant level 2 qualification is essential and level 3 is desirable.
